On Friday, Mr. Jones and Mrs. Tewell took the 7th graders to Kenzie's Landing and Horselake Rd to do plot surveys after the 4th of July fire from last year. They began collecting data with the Cascadia Conservation district on the recovery of native plants and the prevalence of invasive plants following the wildfire.

The Entiat School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Charles Bowen Mitchell as our new Transportation Coordinator/Bus Driver. Bowen brings a wealth of hands-on transportation experience and a commitment to student safety and operational excellence. A 2020 graduate of Entiat High School, Bowen returns to serve his home district with pride. During his high school years, he was actively involved as a student-athlete and participated in a transportation mentorship program under the guidance of retiring coordinator Vickie Jacobs-Stanton. This experience helped shape his passion for school transportation and fleet operations. His responsibilities included maintaining and repairing district vehicles, fueling coordination, and supporting fleet planning—contributing to long-term strategic goals. Currently, he is furthering his expertise by pursuing certification through the OSPI, CWU, and WAPT’s Pupil Transportation Management Training Program. Our 6th graders had a wonderful day at Columbia Breaks Interpretive Center learning about fire ecology, fire behavior, fire suppression, defensible space, and aspects of a healthy forest. We are so lucky to have a facility like this and some of the local experts sharing their knowledge.

🌟 Gateway to Excellence Awards🌟 At today’s School Board meeting, we had the honor of recognizing some incredible partners who go above and beyond for Entiat Schools. 🏆 The City of Entiat received our "Gateway to Excellence" award for their continued support of our district. Under the leadership of Mark Botello, the city crew consistently lends their expertise, equipment, and time to assist our schools. From sanding and plowing our bus lanes and garage routes in the winter, to painting crosswalks and helping with projects we couldn’t tackle alone , their support is truly invaluable. 🌳 We also presented a G"ateway to Excellence" award to Patrick Diehm for his incredible hands-on teaching with our 5th graders during their annual Arbor Day tree planting. His dedication helps bring learning to life in such a meaningful way. As Superintendent Greg Whitmore shared, *“I can’t tell you how appreciative we are of the relationship we share with the City of Entiat. I consider our school the heart of the community, and so it just makes sense that we would do all we can to help each other thrive.” 💛 Next time you see someone from the City of Entiat, please take a moment to thank them for everything they do to support our students, staff, and school community! #EntiatProud #GatewayToExcellence #CommunityPartners #ThankYou
