At our October 26 board meeting, we were proud to present Gateway to Excellence Awards to two deserving teams whose work helps keep our school safe and ready for learning.
Our Maintenance Crew: Cameron, Dave, and Stewart
These three handle the maintenance, grounds, and custodial needs of a campus serving approximately 400 students and 65 staff members. Over the past year, they tackled flood restoration, facility upgrades, classroom transformations, and an especially busy summer—all while keeping up with daily cleaning, grounds care, and school events. From responding to overnight emergencies to connecting with students in the lunchroom, they bring resourcefulness, humor, and care to everything they do.
Chelan-Douglas Health District’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinators
During wildfires over the past several years, including this summer, this team responded quickly to help us manage indoor air quality. They delivered air scrubbers, brought additional units the same day when needed, and walked our buildings with us to test the air and identify where the equipment would be most effective. Their responsiveness and expertise have been invaluable in supporting our students and staff during challenging wildfire conditions.
