We are thrilled to announce that Alex Green will be visiting all of our GEAR UP schools. Alex is a former NFL running back, author, motivational speaker, and founder of the Dream & Believe Foundation. His inspiring message focuses on leadership, finding your “why,” resilience, mindset, personal responsibility, and setting goals for the future. We are confident his visit will resonate with both students and staff, leaving everyone inspired and motivated.
. A Portland native and graduate of Benson Polytechnic High School, Alex overcame academic challenges, including undiagnosed dyslexia, homelessness to become a nationally recognized athlete.
After winning a national championship at Butte College, Alex continued his football career at the University of Hawai‘i, where he set a school record by rushing for 327 yards in a single game. In 2011, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 3rd.
Today, Alex uses his experiences with adversity, recovery, mental health, fatherhood, and life after football to inspire young people and the adults who support them. He is the author of the children’s book Dream and Believe: AJ Wants to Play Football and founder of the Dream & Believe Foundation.
Through his signature program, The GreenPrint, Alex teaches leadership, purpose, discipline, resilience, and accountability. His message reminds audiences that every student has a story—and one trusted adult can help change its direction.
