Bowen

ENTIAT, WA — The Entiat School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Charles Bowen Mitchell as our new Transportation Coordinator/Bus Driver. Bowen brings a wealth of hands-on transportation experience and a commitment to student safety and operational excellence.

A 2020 graduate of Entiat High School, Bowen returns to serve his home district with pride. During his high school years, he was actively involved as a student-athlete and participated in a transportation mentorship program under the guidance of retiring coordinator Vickie Jacobs-Stanton. This experience helped shape his passion for school transportation and fleet operations.

Bowen most recently served in multiple roles at Wenatchee School District, including Mechanic, Fueling/Shop Assistant, and Substitute School Bus Driver. His responsibilities included maintaining and repairing district vehicles, fueling coordination, and supporting fleet planning—contributing to long-term strategic goals.

Bowen holds a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with three years of professional driving experience, including two years dedicated to both general education and special education student routes. Currently, he is furthering his expertise by pursuing certification through the OSPI, CWU, and WAPT’s Pupil Transportation Management Training Program.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bowen back to Entiat,” said Superintendent Greg Whitmore. “His technical skill set, community connection, and forward-thinking approach make him an excellent fit for our district. We are confident he will continue the efficiency and reliability of our transportation services.”

Please join us in congratulating Bowen Mitchell on his new role. We look forward to the energy and innovation he brings to the Entiat School District transportation team.
