NURSE/STUDENTS HEALTH

  • Hi Community and Parents,

I just wanted to reach out to give you some current information as well as reiterate some information regarding mitigation strategies for COVID as well as Flu A/B. As we are in the middle of what is normally considered cold and flu season, we are seeing an increase in illnesses. Last week I met with our admin team to come to an agreement on the guidelines that we will follow. I have linked the document to this email for your reference.

Prior to COVID students were required to stay home for 24 hours with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea and continue to do so. If you or one of your students is experiencing any of these symptoms, the full 24 hours is required. If students are experiencing any "Covid symptoms" and appear to be ill, please send them to the office so I may follow up with them and their family if necessary.

We now have the opportunity to test for Flu A/B along with COVID. The new test is similar to the old COVID tests and requires a nasal swab. Results are available within 15 minutes. If you are sick, please stay home or come see me to get a test. This information will be sent to families via remind and skyward. Packets have been made and placed in teachers' boxes for students Pre K- 6th. My main goal is to help keep everyone healthy and avoid any "outbreaks" of illness so that we can keep kids in school. If you end up testing positive, please contact me or the administration for the next steps and support. If you have any questions, please come and talk to me!
